Welcome everyone to the Korean beta test! Post any issues you run into over here or feel free to make new topics to address individual concerns. (just make sure you watch the videos first)
For this particular release, I’m going to be traveling, and won’t have access to the internet until September 8th. As such, if the more experienced folks among you can help each other out while I’m gone, that’d be much appreciated on my end! 🙂August 30, 2015 at 6:53 pm #14145
How do we download this?August 31, 2015 at 11:02 am #14167
We sent out an email with the link yesterday, but please feel free to email us at email@example.com if you didn’t receive it!August 31, 2015 at 8:45 pm #14178
Thanks for sending this out. I haven’t had a chance to get very far yet, but just a couple of things:
1. In video 4, the screen goes blank for about five minutes at 7m08s and then again at 12m36s.
2. In video 4 again, the word “overview” is missing the “o” on one of your slides.

Hi James! Fixed it!September 14, 2015 at 6:00 am #14587
Card bug reports:
First off, a general note that some of the IPA symbols you use do not show up on the Android client (my primary study location). What I have noticed specifically is that the diacriticals indicating unreleased and tensed consonants do not display.
Second, some issues with Spelling Rule cards:
104: “Spelling” is ㅋ when it should be ㄱ
131: “Recording of the sound” does not match pronunciation in “Recording of the Word”
223 & 230: “Spelling” is ㅌ instead of ㅅ; “Notes on usage” discusses word-final ㄷ,ㅌ,ㅈ,ㅊ,ㅅ,ㅆ but the highlighted ㅅ is word-initial
244: “Recording of the Sound” is a rolled /r/ instead of /b/
This is as far as I’ve gotten studying right now, everything else has been wonderful! Thank you so much!September 14, 2015 at 6:10 am #14588
Forgot another annoying issue: The “Minimal Pair” cards types and deck settings somehow reached into a previous trainer of yours (Latin American Spanish) that I had installed and changed what I had pre-existing. Since I personally prefer that minimal pair cards give only the correct answer on the back and not the wrong one, and I liked my settings I had in place for Spanish, I found this to be pretty annoying.September 14, 2015 at 11:50 am #14600
Thank you for that feedback. I’ve made a note of them for review when we revise the trainer, and we appreciate your input!

Found some more errors as I studied my way through:
204: “Spelling” is ㄴㅊ, should be ㄴㅈ
214: “Recording of the sound” sounds very weird
241 & 257: word should be written “멋있다” no space, not “멋있 다” — the graphics and “example word” are both wrong
251: same as 244 in my last post
261, 267: the “ㅍ” is only partially masked in the graphics, which gives clues to the answer on certain cards
262: “spelling” is ㅋ,ㅁ should be ㄱ,ㅁ
263, 276: IPA is “hangugʌ”, should be “angjʌŋ”
282: “Spelling” is ㅊ,ㅁ, should be ㅅ,ㅁ
306, 314, 338: “let’s look” is actually spelled 봐요–I personally feel you didn’t choose a great example here. In addition, your native speaker seems to be pronouncing clearly and slowly and not showing the w-glide you wanted to highlight.
322: the ㅚ in the first syllable is highlighted/blanked out, rather than the ㅘ in the last syllable. Same problem with too much clear articulation as 306, in my view.
367, 372,: to illustrate Korean culture, you’ve used a picture of the US White House
407: The “English meaning” caption reads “dessert” when in fact the picture is of a desert.
416: “지갑” means wallet or coin purse; the picture you show is more of a 가방 or 핸드백October 7, 2015 at 2:06 pm #15260
